Outback Bash

Grab your best mates, leave your jumpers at the door, and escape to summer down under at the National Aviary!

No need to venture into the untamed outback to get a closer look at the wildlife -- our feathered Australian locals will come to you! Chat with the parrots, laugh with our Kookaburra, and learn why our penguins hate the cold as much as you do.  

Dance the winter blues away as DJ Scottro heats up the dance floor and test your skills against a master didgeridoo player!  Cool down with a drink from the cash bar while we fire up the barbie with delectable bites available for purchase.  

Other activities include: 

• Get up close to the wilder side of Australian wildlife, as a visiting tarantulas and scorpion make a guest appearance!


• Hang out with the new Baby Sloth! Special viewing opportunities at 6:30 & 7:45pm!
  


• Hand feed our Rainbow Lorikeets in our Canary's Call exhibit from 6:00-7:00pm


• Create outback themed enrichment for our birds


• See the National Aviary's newest free flight show at 7:00pm, "Nature's Voice", featuring Nigel the Kookaburra!


• Learn to play a didgeridoo from an expert 


• Capture the fun of the night with a wild portrait from our caricaturist or a trip to Australia in our green-screen photo booth!

Every dollar you spend while visiting our Outback Bash supports the National Aviary's education, avian medicine, and conservation programs both locally and internationally. Your support helps us soar!   

All guests must be 21 and over - Must have valid ID. 

Tickets are just $20 in advance, $25 at the door. 

This is a cash or donation voucher event. Visitors without cash can purchase donation vouchers from a visitor services desk using credit/debit cards. These vouchers can be used for feeding the Rainbow Lorikeets, watching the "Nature's Voice" live bird show, and purchasing alcoholic beverages from the cash bar. Food can be purchased using cash or a card directly from Atria's. The National Aviary does not have an ATM on site.
