About the Authors:
Julie Ann Lake-Diaz:
Julie Ann Lake-Díaz is a Chilean American artist. She was born to
a Chilean mother and British American father. She spent her teenage
years living in both Chile and Argentina. She has also lived in Italy
and Sweden. Lake-Diaz studied art with the J. Kirk Richards Studio
Academy and has a degree in Interior Design. Her work is inspired
by family history, Chilean culture, women in the scriptures, and the
intersection of these themes with the present. She is married to
Brandon Lake and is a mother to four children.
Rose Datoc Dall:
Rose Datoc Dall is an award-winning Filipina American artist
born in 1968 in Washington, DC, and raised in Northern Virginia.
She received a BFA in Art History and Fine Art Studio from
Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in 1990. Her
contemporary figurative paintings are distinctive by her use of bold
colors and dynamic design, but her most iconic work is her religious
art, including depictions of Jesus Christ. Her artwork is in several
permanent museum and university collections. Dall and her husband
are the parents of four children and the grandparents of a growing
number of grandchildren.
