The Wizard of Oz

Presenting a special screening of The Wizard of Oz to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the film’s world premiere at the Cape Cinema on August 11, 1939, four days before its openings in New York and Los Angeles. The film will be shown in its original 35mm format with a special aspect ratio lens used for the opening Kansas Sequence.  Before the screening, American Idol finalist and Barnstable native Siobhan Magnus will perform 'Over the Rainbow'. This event will feature a cash bar and hors d'oeuvres. Six dollars from each ticket will go to support renovations at the Cape Cinema.
