John Dela Cruz (a.k.a. Nurse John) is a stand-up comedian based in Los Angeles whose comedy feels like talking to your work bestie—you trauma dump, cry, scream, and laugh all in the same breath.


His Short Staffed Tour was a phenomenon, selling over 200,000 tickets across 100+ shows in the US and Canada, plus 28 back-to-back sellouts in Australia and New Zealand. He’s also taken major stages by storm, from Netflix Is a Joke, New York Comedy Festival, and JFL, to iconic venues like London’s Royal Albert Hall (twice!) and Sydney’s ICC.


Beyond the stage, John has built a global audience of 12M+ followers who connect with his hilariously relatable take on life. He also hosts I Beg Your Pardon, one of North America’s top comedy podcasts, which fans call their weekly therapy session.


An actual nurse by profession and an “accidental comedian” at heart, John’s sharp, heartfelt portrayal of life in healthcare hits home for audiences everywhere—whether or not they’ve ever worn scrubs.


 



With the help of Yondr bags, we at the Comedy Store create phone-free spaces for artists and comedians.  

What that means: Upon arrival at the venue, all phones and smart watches are placed in Yondr cases and will be unlocked at the end of the show. Guests maintain possession of these items at all times. Guests may also access their phones at any time only in the designated Phone Use Areas throughout the venue. All phones will be re-secured upon returning to the event space.

Anyone seen using a device during the performance in a non-designated area will be escorted out of the venue by security. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a phone-free viewing experience.


About The Belly Room


Hidden on our second floor, the Belly Room has been a testing ground for the best developing comedians over the last four decades. Not only have great comedy voices been discovered in this room but some of your favorite shows and podcasts got their start on this tiny but powerful stage. Built by Yakov Smirnoff and his father, the Belly Room is many comics' first home while they work their way up at The Store.

Because our shows are in such high demand, we are not able to hold seat after the show starts.


Ticket holders should be checked in or in line by showtime. Once the show has started, your seat may not be held. Any open seats will be made available to standby customers. All late arrivals or unclaimed tickets will be void and non-refundable.
