Event Description
MYLES TRUITT & FRIENDS B Mickie from BMF

During 2018, he starred in the critically acclaimed Kin(LIONSGATE) alongside Dennis Quaid, Zoë Kravitz, and James Franco in addition to appearing in the Venice Film Festival favorite Dragged Across Concrete with Academy® Award winner Mel Gibson, Vince Vaughn, and Tory Kittles. Flexing his versatility on television, he also shined as Ant in OWN’s Queen Sugar and Issa Williams in The CW’s Black Lightning. However, he reaches another stratosphere in 2021 and 2022 as Patrick on Season Four of Stranger Things(NETFLIX) and in BMF(LIONSGATE/STARZ).

Observation enhances perspective. Watching, listening, and learning intently, Myles Truitt absorbs the nuances of his environment with intuitive insight and a keen sense of empathy, enabling him to seamlessly inhabit every role. This approach has distinguished the actor, producer, philanthropist, and New Village founder as an unforgettable presence in acclaimed films such as Kin and Dragged Across Concrete as well as the mega-popular NETFLIX staple Stranger Things and season 2 of LIONSGATE/ STARZ new hit drama BMF produced by 50 Cent. Variety touted him on its “Young Hollywood Impact Report” in 2018, and The Hollywood Reporter has praised his “soulfulness” and described him as “easy to root for.

It’s because he remains receptive to his surroundings and embodies authenticity on screen.

“It starts with being observant,” he affirms. “If you’re observing and not speaking, you pick up what’s going on around you. I like to call it, ‘Listening Eyes.’ You see and hear everything first and take action after. It allows me to naturally develop every character.”

Growing up in Georgia, acting found him serendipitously. Basketball camp had filled up, but theater camp still had a few openings. Rather than work at Emory Hospital with his mom for the summer, he gave theater a shot. He immediately felt at home on stage in front of audiences as he developed his skills through regular performances. Following the camp, he joined the Youth Ensemble of Atlanta and continued to act. At an open call, renowned casting director Robi Reed handpicked him for the role of Young Ronnie DeVoe in BET’s The New Edition Story, kickstarting his career in the process.

As an entrepreneur, he helms the production company New Village, preparing a slate of projects for release on the horizon.

“When I started acting, it was hard for me to find an outlet,” he explains. “There are a lot of youth going through the same thing. I’m building a platform where they can realize and embrace their skills with New Village. We’re literally creating this village together.”

At the same time, he consistently gives back. He supports the Special Olympics and the Champion Foundation—launched by his grandmother and mother to help the homeless in Atlanta. He has also spoken at HBCUs across the country.

No matter what he does, Myles sends an important message.

“Stay true to everything you do in life, no matter what anybody tells you,” he leaves off. “Have a goal and strive for anything you do. I want to show it’s possible.”
