Event Description

October 14 - 31

Experience “Where Fairy Tales Get Grimm,” our all new edition of Jay Ghoul’s House of Curiosities. Meet our cast of characters from fairy tales and legends as they lead you on a spooky performance through the first floor and basement of Lyndhurst mansion. Everyone from Merlin to the Mad Hatter, Rumpelstiltskin to Hansel and Gretel will make an appearance. Guest will be able to experience the spectacular gothic castle at night with eerie lighting and fabulous seasonal decorations  in a way rarely seen. The performance is fun, eerie and spooky but not scary. While the event will appeal to adults and teens, most younger children can also participate. The youngest children may be scared by low lighting levels and the costumes of the actors.  Leave enough time prior to performances to walk through the scarecrow and skeleton invasions along the path to the carriage house. Refreshments are served in the Carriage House visitor’s center and, weather, permitting, can be enjoyed in our beautifully lit courtyard.

This event has timed entry. Please arrive 20 minutes before the entry time stamped on your ticket in order to have time to park and check in. Following the theatrical tour through the mansion, which takes about 30 minutes, leave enough time to view the lit scarecrow fields on the grounds. Plan on a minimum of one hour at the site and a half-hour travel time to your next venue. Check-in takes place in the Carriage House.
