Event Description
1927, dir Fritz Lang w/Brigitte Helm, Alfred Abel, Gustav Froehlich, Rudolf Klein-Rogge, 153 min, DCP
One of the most famous science-fiction films of all time, Fritz Lang’s METROPOLIS paints a stark portrait of a divided mega-city where the rich live a utopic life above ground while the workers – the lifeblood of the city – toil in subterranean factories. A sort of Romeo & Juliet story develops between an idealistic young woman from the lower class and a high-born son of the aristocracy that is complicated when a mad scientist creates a chaos-sowing robot duplicate of the woman.
A "Double Feature" ticket additionally allows admission into the 9:30PM screening of AELITA: THE QUEEN ON MARS. No additional purchase is necessary.
