Melissa Fay Greene, The Underdogs: Children, Dogs, and the Power of Unconditional Love
Author Talk & Book Signing
When two-time National Book Award finalist Melissa Fay Greene wrote an article for the New York Times Magazine about the remarkable work being done by “4 Paws for Ability,” a pioneering service-dog-training school for children with disabilities, her story became one of the 10 most emailed and searched for stories of the year and inspired a massive outpouring of generous donations for this Ohio non-profit. Now, in The Underdogs, Greene shares a few more extraordinary stories of dogs bringing children with disabilities and their families new levels of engagement with the world, independence, and self-worth. She explores these often Lassie-like canine miracles by the light of the latest findings in neuroscience and animal behavior. Please join us as we welcome Ms. Greene, New York Times bestselling author Praying for Sheetrock, The Temple Bombing, and Last Man Out, to our Book Festival stage once again.
