Founded by Yehudi Menuhin in 1983, the Menuhin Competition is the leading international competition for young violinists. Nicknamed “The Olympics of the Violin,” the Competition attracts hundreds of entries from over 40 countries, choosing only 44 of the world’s very best young violinists to participate. Held every two years in a different world city, the 2020 Competition will be held right here in Richmond.
The Jurors Showcase features six internationally acclaimed artists serving as adjudicators for the Competition:
Gordon Back, piano | Artistic Director, Menuhin Competition
Noah Bendix-Balgley, violin | Juror
Pamela Frank, violin | Chair of the Jury
Joji Hattori, viola | Vice Chair of the Jury
