Event Description

Pre-registration has ended for this event but we still encourage you to swing by. We hope to let people in night-of, if space permits. Sign up for NYPL Events to get the latest programs from the Library delivered straight to your inbox.

For free events, we generally overbook to ensure a full house. Priority will be given to those who have registered in advance, but registration does not guarantee admission.

Join us on the SNFL terrace for readings, drinks, crafts, and more!

LIVE from NYPL presents its first in a new series of monthly happy hours on the brand new terrace atop the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library (SNFL). Drop in on select Fridays for drinks, mingling, and crafts, as well as a short selection of curated readings.

In May, we are proud to partner with independent publishers Milkweed Editions and Copper Canyon press to present readings of new work by poet Ada Limón and playwright Sarah Ruhl. Come for a drink and the amazing view, stay to discover new writing by these beloved writers!

Limón's new book is The Hurting Kind. Ruhl’s new book is Love Poems in Quarantine. Purchase copies at the event and get them signed.

Join us at any point between 5:30-7:30 PM. Poetry readings will begin at about 6:15 PM.
