In the wake of the ongoing spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Mattress Factory will remain closed for an initial two week period, effective Saturday, March 14. Our top priorities remain the health and safety of our staff, visitors and volunteers, and our move to close is a proactive step to help stem the spread of the virus. All of our public programs are canceled during this time. The Member Tour will be rescheduled at a later date.

As a Mattress Factory Member, you are invited to join us for our second Member Tour of 2020! On Saturday, March 21 from 10 AM-Noon, take an in-depth look at the ways in which the Mattress Factory has shaped Pittsburgh’s North Side during an Art + Architecture Tour. This guided tour starts with a slide presentation on the history of the museum and is great way to investigate and experience the museum’s site-specific installation art in relationship to the city’s landscape and history.

If you've ever wondered what it takes to create immersive installations that bring emergining and established artists from all over the world to Pittsburgh, you won't want to miss this opportunity! 

Educators will start the tour at 10 AM in the lobby of the main building at 500 Sampsonia Way.
