Masha Gessen: The Stories of a Life: Robert B. Silvers Lecture

The award-winning journalist and author Masha Gessen delivers this year's annual Robert B. Silvers lecture, “The Stories of a Life.” Born in Moscow, Gessen immigrated to the U.S. with her family in 1981, at the age of 14. She returned to Moscow as a correspondent ten years later and stayed, becoming a Russian-language journalist in addition to her work for American magazines. She re-immigrated to the United States in 2013, after her family was targeted by Putin’s anti-gay campaign. She is a contributing opinion writer to The New York Times and a frequent contributor to The New York Review of Books.
