Ma'am
Are they country? Are they crazy? Does it matter? Hailing from somewhere in Central Pennsylvania Ma’aM is a seven headed cowpoke racing their horse & buggy off the road into a city near you! Mangling outlaw spirited alt-country & greasy garage rock they create their own concoction of country junk that'll leave yer bottles empty and yer honky-tonk hearts full.

Big Girl materializes as a rare spectral force comprised of a powerful six-piece ensemble. From irreverent post-punk to the poetic intimacy of vulnerable indie-rock, Big Girl brings together an array of forces that culminate in their wild live performances where the sparkling collides with the demonic, fishnets weave tales of late capitalism, and televisions whisper intimately to the soul. Big Girl is the elegy for grieving gays, navigating the darkest corners of unattainable desires and irretrievable losses through choreographed dance moves and moments of experimental grandeur, with a backbone of primal, lived-in rock n' roll.

Their debut Album Big Girl vs. God, was released this past Summer on Weird Sister Records. The band recently shared the album singles “Forever,” “Instructions 2 Say Sorry,” “Summer Sickness” and “Black-Eyed Susan.” “Forever,” which premiered in June via Under the Radar, was added to Spotify’sFresh Finds Indie and Fresh Finds playlists, and the music video, directed by Brandon Flynn(Thirteen Reasons Why, Hellraiser), is a finalist for Indie Shorts Awards Cannes. The LP was produced by Justin Pizzoferrato (Pixies, Dinosaur Jr., Speedy Ortiz).

Tetchy’s music doesn’t so much create a sound, as it creates a place. A place to radically feel. Somewhere that trauma is laid bare, smashed to pieces and then reconstructed through audacious freedom and unabashed pleasure. Perhaps the defining aspect of the burgeoning Tetchy lore is that vocalist/guitarist Maggie Denning is, “someone who has very big feelings”. From the band’s earliest releases, her songs have been repositories of visceral emotion; from unshakeable heartbreak and soul-crushing grief to delirious joy and brazen lust.

Amongst these highest highs and lowest lows, Tetchy craft a world of whispered hushes that explode into eviscerating screams, and ambient space that gives way to bludgeoning walls of sound. A home to embrace one’s good chaos and to work through bad thoughts.
