Class Dates: Mondays & Tuesdays, September 22, 2025-November 24, 2025 from 6-9PM (No Classes on October 6 & October 7)


The WSET Level 3 Award in Wines is a comprehensive course that delves into the factors influencing wine style, quality, and price. It's designed for wine professionals and enthusiasts with a solid foundation of wine knowledge, offering in-depth exploration of grape growing, winemaking, and the key aspects of major wines. The course emphasizes a systematic approach to wine tasting and equips students with the knowledge to advise on wine selection and make informed decisions.


Key Course Elements:



  • Deep Dive into Wine:


The course goes beyond basic wine knowledge, exploring the intricate details of viticulture, winemaking, and the factors that affect wine style. 



  • Systematic Approach to Tasting


Students learn the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine (SAT) to analyze wines accurately and effectively. 



  • World Wine Regions:


The course covers major wine regions, including their history, grape varieties, and production methods. 



  • Wine Style and Quality:


Students learn to identify the key factors that influence wine style and how to assess wine quality. 



  • Practical Application:


The course provides practical knowledge that can be applied in various wine-related roles, such as wine retail, hospitality, and education. 



  • Tutored Tastings:


The course includes tutored tastings of a wide selection of benchmark wines, helping students refine their palate and tasting skills. 



  • Exam on Final Class Day:


The Level 3 exam assesses both theoretical knowledge and tasting skills through a combination of multiple-choice questions, short written answers, and a blind tasting section



  • Class Includes One Certificate to Sean Rosenkrans' Blind Testing at Allegheny Wine Mixer!


*All students must be 21 years of age or older to take this class.
