Longturn Presents: Unionize (Fall Edition)

The Night Shift presents Unionize on November 29th! Our showcase of Pittsburgh's local selectors and regional artists, some you know and love, some you might be discovering for the first time. The backbone of the local and regional house and techno scene, the artists who hold down the underground week after week. For this edition we have Brenner from Headcleaner, an event series in Columbus Ohio since 2017 pushing house, techno, breakbeats, garage, and left-feild dance music, making his return to Pittsburgh after opening for Nikki Nair last year. On opening duties will be two resident artists from Transit, a local event series that continues to push the Pittsburgh party landscape through vast knowledge of sound, mixing, and throwing them in unique locations. We're excited to have Joey Kilona and Michael Kaiser joining us for the first time in the Cobra booth. Michael you may know from our parties before covid as one of our residents making his return to play with us for this special occasion.

A union is a club, society, or association formed by people with a common interest or purpose. It's an organization formed by workers who join together and use their strength to have a voice in their workplace. Our union is for creators and fans of underground house & techno music in Pittsburgh coming together for a common cause on the Cobra dance floor. It's a place where we can bring back artists who have played for us in years past and showcase new artists in our organization yet to be discovered by our audience.

In the era when America's Rust Belt got its name, factory workers labored on a 12-hour day or night shift for two weeks straight. To switch shifts, one group would have to work 24-hours straight and cover the labor gap. This grueling shift became known as the Longturn.

Longturn music was founded to give people with day jobs a space to spend their second shift. No bottle service, no passwords, just a dance floor filled with good people and good music.
