Event Description
Longturn Presents: Qrion

Cobra | Bloomfield | Ages 21+

We're taking over Cobra at the end of June to close out Pride month with another all queer lineup and inclusively priced tickets, this time featuring the Japanese Anjunadeep sensation, Qrion!

Ranging from soft, exquisite beats to '90s-adjacent dance floor numbers, Qrion delivers a versatile flair to electronic music. Beyond her profound original productions, like her collaborative Sapporo EP with Spencer Brown and her solo debut Sine Wave Party EP via Anjunadeep, Qrion is an excellent remixer, too. She's lent her future-focused sound to artists such as Alina Baraz, Lane 8, Andrew Bayer, TOKIMONSTA, and more to elevate a variety of music across the spectrum.

Coming from the DC/Baltimore area to get the floor going for the night will be DJ & Producer Mimi Moss making her Longturn debut.

Qrion | Anjunadeep | Austin

Born and raised in the snowy city of Sapporo, Japan, and now residing in Austin, Texas, Qrion takes inspiration from the robust environments at her whim. Melancholic, wistful, and dancefloor-minded, Qrion’s sound is multi-layered in its approach. Ranging from supple, soft exploratory works to driving house, and soul-sampling groovers, her touch is light and playful – evoking memories and feelings through sound. From her long-running relationship with Anjunadeep to her remixes for the likes of Booka Shade, Röyksopp, CRi, and more, her productions have drawn acclaim across dancefloors globally.

There’s a reason why she was named on Forbes Japan’s 30 Under 30 list: since the inception of her musical career, Qrion has become a staple on revered labels such as Anjunadeep, Last Night On Earth, Mad Decent, Ultra Music, and more. Her one-of-a-kind style has garnered support from BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard, and Pete Tong, along with industry figures Anna Lunoe, Mall Grab, Todd Edwards, and Lane 8.

Recognized by Spotify’s EQUAL Program with a billboard in New York City’s Times Square, Qrion demonstrated her meteoric rise throughout 2021: Qrion released her debut full-length record I Hope It Lasts Forever via Anjunadeep, her most breathtaking work to date. Qrion was awarded the title of DJ Mag’s 2021 Future Star and was included in Billboard’s 20 Best Dance Albums in 2021. She has since released original productions most notably her her collaborative single “High & Dry” with Sasha via Last Night On Earth and “20ms” a collaboration with Spencer Brown via diviine records.

Since the start of her career, Qrion has supported leading acts such as Meduza, Romy, Ben Böhmer, Lane 8, and Porter Robinson. Qrion set out on her first I Miss Crying In The Club tour, hitting 18 cities across North America in the Spring of 2023. Currently, she is working on her second album set to release on Anjunadeep with its lead single “Miyanosawa” debuting on March 15th, 2024.

In the era when America's Rust Belt got its name, factory workers labored on a 12-hour day or night shift for two weeks straight. To switch shifts, one group would have to work 24-hours straight and cover the labor gap. This grueling shift became known as the Longturn.

Longturn music was founded to give people with day jobs a space to spend their second shift. No bottle service, no passwords, just a dance floor filled with good people and good music.

Come early, stay late, dance hard ⚒️
