Hailing from the stark and unyielding deserts of the southwestern United States, Juheun emerges from the dust with mind warping, and forward thinking techno. Developing his sound from dramatic minimal techno with curious and intriguing basslines to the pulsing and hypnotic techno that he's making today. Many years after beginning his journey in the electronic music industry, Juheun continues to push boundaries while constantly searching for the perfect balance between analog gear and the newest technology, blurring the lines between past and future to create a modern and dynamic sound.

Born in Orange County, California but raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Juheun's musical journey began in an unexpected way. Growing up in a strict household where music was surprisingly encouraged, he was surrounded by his father's impressive vinyl collection spanning Michael Jackson to Prince to The Rolling Stones. While initially focused on classical piano lessons and later pursuing art and film, it was a chance encounter with underground dance music downloaded from Napster that would change everything.

The pivotal moment came during high school when a crush overheard the mysterious hour-long European mixes playing through his headphones and asked if he'd ever been to a rave. That first underground party experience was transformative - witnessing the energy and culture built around this music he'd been discovering online, Juheun knew instantly this was his calling. His plans for film school went out the window that night.

What makes his story even more remarkable is the discovery that his musical passion was literally in his blood. After landing his first international gig in Egypt, Juheun finally opened up to his parents about his DJ career. His mother's surprise revelation that his father had actually been a DJ in South Korean coffee shops before immigrating to America explained everything - from the quality record collection to the constant presence of music in their household growing up.

After nearly a decade of building his reputation through club residencies and touring across the US, Juheun has established himself as a force in the techno world. His recent collaboration "Open Door" with Tokyo duo Drunken Kong on the legendary Tronic Music label represents a dream come true, working with artists who had long inspired his own creative journey.

Currently developing an innovative live show format that moves beyond traditional DJing, Juheun incorporates computers, drum machines, and MIDI controllers to manipulate and perform his original productions in real-time. This evolution represents his ongoing commitment to pushing techno into new territories while honoring its roots.

As an American-Korean artist, Juheun advocates strongly for diversity in electronic music, believing that art must have no barriers and be represented by all backgrounds to continue evolving and pushing boundaries. His philosophy of "slow and steady wins the race" has guided him through an industry where many artists burn out quickly, instead focusing on steady growth, honing his craft, and building meaningful collaborations with the artists who paved the way before him.

For Juheun, success isn't measured by followers or money, but by reaching the next level artistically and earning validation from the legends who inspired his journey. With his unique desert-forged perspective and unwavering dedication to innovation, he continues to emerge from the dust with mind-warping techno that bridges worlds and defies expectations.

In the era when America's Rust Belt got its name, factory workers labored on a 12-hour day or night shift for two weeks straight. To switch shifts, one group would have to work 24-hours straight and cover the labor gap. This grueling shift became known as the Longturn.

Longturn music was founded to give people with day jobs a space to spend their second shift. No bottle service, no passwords, just a dance floor filled with good people and good music.
Come early, stay late, dance hard ⚒️
