Andy Lipman, The CF Warrior Project Vol 2

The second book of this inspirational series of memoirs about people who live with the life-changing diagnosis of cystic fibrosis (CF) and those who advocate for those who fight the disease. Stories include people from around the globe who once lived with a childhood disease and are now living into their 50s, 60s, and 70s thanks in large part to various scientific breakthroughs; parents who have turned unfathomable circumstances into impactful legacies in honor and, in some cases, in memory of their children; geneticists responsible for discovering the CF gene, which has led to many treatments to slow the progression of the disease; and celebrities who have used their influence to bring awareness to the disease and hope to a community that is so passionate to cure it.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Andy Lipman has cystic fibrosis, but cystic fibrosis will never have him. On his 38th birthday, Andy passed the current median life expectancy for people with cystic fibrosis (CF). At 49, his life expectancy now exceeds the expected. Andy is a positive role model, who defied all odds to become a college graduate, Olympic-torch bearer, runner, advocate, author, husband, and father. He is dedicated to finding a cure for this genetic disease.

Daniel Quigley, Thunderstruck

The world is full of magic that most of us should never see. Covert organizations are tasked with keeping this magic in check, and for centuries, they’ve been able to do so. That is, until Zev O’Connell showed up on the scene.

Zev never wanted to be special. He was happy with his quiet life in hiding, running an antique store and occasionally using his unique magical abilities to play around with electricity. But when a mysterious tycoon sends Zev on a mission to Savannah, Georgia, to purchase a cryptic artifact on his behalf, Zev begins to realize there may be more to himself and his world than he ever imagined.

Fast-paced and absolutely electrifying, Thunderstruck is a journey into the fantastic that will have you laughing, biting your nails, and begging for more.

Scott Zucker, Battle For Life

In Battle for Life, Sam Silver is a sixty-year-old lawyer balancing work and his family after having moved back to his hometown to care for his ailing parents. Now, his ninety-year-old father Max has asked Sam to accompany him to Washington, D.C. for a reunion of his crewmates from the Navy ship he sailed with during World War II. Managing the stress of life, Sam embarks on a final road trip with his father, exploring along the way not only his father’s lessons about handling adversity and heartache but exposing some long-kept secrets about his experience in the war.

Together, Max and Sam share a journey of understanding about loss and love and the challenges that each of us face as we go through life. Together, they recognize the ultimate lesson - that life can be a battle, but worth the fight.
