Classical Show w Eileen Kosasih + Evgueni Alexeev

We're crushin' on classical, all thanks to Eileen Kosasih. She's back on the Eddy stage to present new-school classical creations with violinist Evgueni Alexeev.

Tickets $20, available online and at the door.
Show starts at 6 pm.

About Eileen Kosasih:
Eileen Kosasih is a pianist, violinist, and artist based in Calgary. She has a B.A. Music in Violin (Ambrose University), M.A. Music in Orchestral Conducting (Azusa Pacific University), and a piano diploma (American College of Musicians). Eileen is founder and was director of Calgary Arts Orchestra, a former ensemble dedicated to new Canadian music and a high level of artistry.

Eileen is host of Eileen Kosasih's Classical Variety Show at the King Eddy and is principle 2nd of Symphony of the Kootenays and plays with Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra. She is also an expressionist painter and illustrator.

About Evgueni Alexeev:
Evgueni Alexeev was born in Moscow in 1975.He began his musical studies at the age of 6 in the School of Initiation of the Conservatory of Moscow under the guidance of the Mtra. Natalia Gvozdetskaya.

In 1991 he moved to Mexico City where he continued his violin studies at the School of Music "Life and Movement" with the Mtra. Natalia Gvozdetskaya and the Mtro. Serguei Gorbenko.

From 1991 to 1998 he was a member of the "Carlos Chávez" Youth Symphony Orchestra as part of the first violins section and later as the principal of second violins. During this period he also formed part of the Quartet "Carlos Chávez" with which he made numerous presentations in Mexico and USA.

Since 2005, he has been a member of the Orquesta del Teatro de Bellas Artes (Bellas Artes Opera House). He has accompanied several world-renowned artists such as Plácido Domingo, Anna Netrebko, Javier Camarena, Ramón Vargas and Renée Fleming, to name a few.

​Also from 2008 and until the present he is member of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Mexican National University.

During the 28 years of his professional carreer, Evgueni Alexeev has participated in numerous festivals as a member of chamber groups or most representative Orchestras of Mexico. He also offered recitals as a soloist.

In September 2016 he began his postgraduate specialization studies at the Mount Royal University Conservatory in Calgary, Canada.

In 2018 he successfully concluded the first and the second years of the APP (Advanced Performance Program) getting the corresponding Diplomas.
