Artist Doug Cooper's Knowing & Seeing the River City exhibition is on view through October 10 in the Museum's McKenna Gallery. Celebrate this exhibition and meet the artist during this special reception.


Pittsburgh-based muralist Doug Cooper's Knowing & Seeing the River City offers visitors a fresh look at and interpretation of The Westmoreland’s permanent collection through his work created in conversation with the Museum's well-known industrial landscapes.


Cooper’s book, also titled Knowing and Seeing, is currently being sold in the Museum Shop with a limited number of signed copies by the artist available.


 


IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATES


We are requiring that guests of this event present their vaccination card or a photo of their vaccination card with indication at least one dose of vaccine received upon checking in due to the fact that masking for the duration of this event will not possible with the food and drink components of the evening.


All staff that are working the event, both Museum and outside contractors, will be wearing masks for the duration of the event. Although we have taken enhanced health and safety measures, attending a large, indoor event will increase the risk of exposure to COVID-19 and other communicable diseases regardless of vaccination status. The Westmoreland Museum of American Art cannot guarantee that event attendees will not become infected with COVID-19 and/or spreading COVID-19.
