Directed by Gabriela Sanchez and devised by Anjoli Santiago, Donnell Powell, Tiffany Janell and Edwin Desamour, Kiss of Addixion is a story that is unafraid to dive deep into the perspectives of people and communities impacted by health injustice. Kiss of Addixion centers the voices of artists of color and community workers of color to interpret stories of opioid abuse from North Philadelphia neighborhood residents. The process for creating Kiss of Addixion began with interviewing community residents in the Kensington section of North Philadelphia about their experiences with their own and others’ opioid abuse. Residents shared stories about loved ones, family members, neighbors, their own experiences living in an area with a high addiction rate, and working in these neighborhoods.
