Event Description

Five-Day Kids Comedy Camp
Every Day from 12pm-4pm

Let your kiddo’s imagination run wild! Kids Comedy Camp is a week-long exploration of improv comedy basic skills, offered as five 4-hour classes for kids ages 9 to 13. Perfect for everyone from the aspiring actor, to the class clown, to the thoughtful observer--Kids Comedy Camp is open to all personalities and experience levels! Improvisation isn't just for future comedians. Participants will incorporate positive life skills into the theatrical setting, including listening, supporting, give and take, saying “yes, and” to new ideas — all in a fun, welcoming environment. Kids will gain confidence in navigating challenges, public speaking, critical thinking, and working as a team, all while laughing and playing fun improv games (similar to those seen on TV's Whose Line Is It Anyway?) In addition to learning the building blocks of improv, this summer camp will also give students a little taste of a variety of comedic forms!

Price: $200
Class Size: Maximum 12 kids
Age Limit: 9-13 yrs old

Pick Up/ Drop Off
All classes will take place at Arcade Comedy Theater at 811 Liberty Ave. An attendant at the main box office will be there to sign your child in and out of each class. All campers must be picked up by a parent or legal guardian. If your camper is going to be signed out by someone other than their parent/legal guardian (babysitters, nannies, carpools etc) Please provide their full names and addresses in an email to the instructor. They will be asked to provide valid ID matching the information provided via email/handwritten note from the camper's parent/ legal guardian. In the case of high school-aged campers, they may provide their own transportation, sign themselves in and out of camp with permission given by parent/ legal guardian.

What to Bring to Camp:
We recommend that everyone “dresses to improvise” everyday. We will be dancing, running, jumping, groovin’ and movin’ so campers should wear whatever allows them to be active.

Campers should also bring:

  • Water bottle

  • Notebook and pen

  • A light snack

  • A positive attitude

  • Their Imagination

Snacks/Allergies
During the four hour class we will break for a light snack brought from home. If your child has any allergies or special needs please email the instructor. We will do our best to accommodate your child’s needs and make sure everyone has an educational, safe, and fun time at Kids Comedy Camp!

An Emergency Information Contact Form and other important safety information will be emailed to parents prior to the workshop. Any questions in advance of signing up can be sent to info@arcadecomedytheater.com. *Proof of Pennsylvania child abuse clearances and Act 114 criminal history clearances for instructors and teaching assistants available upon request.
