Though William Powell is best remembered for his roles in My Man Godfrey and THE THIN MAN, he had an extensive career as a romantic leading man, including 5 turns as the sophisticated amateur detective, Philo Vance. In this delightful pre-code mystery, Vance (along with his prize-losing terrier) try to solve the locked-room murder of a fellow competitor at a dog show.
