Broadway at the Movies: Celebrating 80 years of Movie Musicals

In 2019 we were thrilled by Josh Young and his surprise guest, wife, and Broadway Star Emily Padgett. From the opening number to the close of the show it was a night of standing ovations. Most certainly when they brought their 4-month daughter on stage at evenings end!

Take one touch of Broadway musical magic. Add a pinch of Hollywood glamour. Take a spoonful of real onstage chemistry and clever banter. The result is Broadway at the Movies, a musical journey through 80 years of movies and musicals. Josh and Emily will highlight some of the best of Broadway and Hollywood, with songs from The Wizard of Oz, West Side Story, Carousel, The Sound of Music, Les Mis, and favorite Disney musicals.

Josh Young is an exceptional, dynamic, and dramatic Bari-tenor - a baritone singing voice with virtually a tenor range. Beyond that he is a storyteller and masterful in engaging his audience. He has starred on Broadway as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar for which he was nominated for a Tony Award and as Newton in Amazing Grace.

Emily Padgett is truly a Broadway Super Star. She recently was Daisy Hilton literally alongside her costar Erin Davie as conjoined twins in the powerhouse Broadway revival of Sideshow. Emily was Sherrie Christian in Rock of Ages, as well as for originating the roles of Lucy Grant in Steve Martin and Edie Brickell's Bright Star, and Mrs. Bucket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Those at the Mansion last summer will well remember her exceptional performance of “Over the Rainbow.”
