With a unique musical blend of country, folk and gospel, and a dash of the contemporary, John Schmid has gained an enthusiastic following across the nation. His honest, genuine voice is easy to listen to and his message reaches everyone through humor, true life stories, a unmistakable love for people.

He has shared the stage with well-known stars such as Tom T. Hall, Connie Smith, Johnny Paycheck, Jim & Jesse, Dickie Lee, Ralph Stanley, Ricky Skaggs, Paul Overstreet, Randy Travis, Joe Maphis, and Pat Boone! He's even appeared on TV with Vanilla Ice (but don't tell anyone). 

John has recorded 24 CDs, three of them entirely in Pennsylvania German. He sings popular Pennsylvania German songs like "Mei Vadder un Mudder sinn Deitsch" and "Schnizelbank"

If you’ve ever wondered if the Amish enjoy non-religious music, the answer is YES! John will sing some of them and share what that's all about. 

In his youth, John took to running with the local Amish and got to know them so well he even learned the language. He speaks (and can sing in) flawless Pennsylvania Dutch. He married Lydia, a Mennonite girl whose parents had been Amish. You’d never know he wasn’t born an Amishman.

John is a favorite performer among the Amish--they love his style and his music. He’s basically accepted as one of them, always welcome at their homes.
