The undisputed master of the jazz organ, Joey DeFrancesco was a child prodigy born into a family of jazz musicians. By the time he was 5, Joey was playing the organ hits of Jimmy Smith. At the age of 10, he was playing gigs in Philadelphia with Hank Mobley and Philly Joe Jones. And when he was 16, Joey was signed to an exclusive contract with Columbia Records. His list of musical partners is vast and varied: George Benson, Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Steve Gadd, John McLaughlin, David Sanborn, John Scofield and Jimmy Smith. With 2 Grammy nominations and 33 albums as leader, Joey DeFrancesco makes his Bassment debut as a consummate musician at the height of his creative power.
