Seen on CBS Good Times, “The Tonight Show,” “Late Night with David Letterman,” NEW 2018 Comedy Special on STARZ “We Are Still Here” w/ Michael Winslow and much much more…..

James Carter Walker Jr. (born June 25, 1947), known professionally as Jimmie Walker, is an American actor and comedian. Walker is best known for portraying James Evans Jr. (J. J.), the oldest son of Florida and James Evans Sr. on the CBS television series Good Times which originally ran from 1974–1979. Walker was nominated for Golden Globe awards Best Supporting Actor In A Television Series in 1975 and 1976 for his role. While on the show, Walker's character was known for the catchphrase "Dy-no-mite!"

Whether it's his first love of performing stand-up or captivating millions with his Emmy winning role as "J.J. Evans" in the iconic television series “Good Times,” Jimmie Walker has now been entertaining audiences around the world for over four decades.

Raised in the South Bronx, he went to Dewitt Clinton and Theodore Roosevelt High School, Jimmie first achieved success as a stand-up comedian working in Harlem with The Last Poets and The Black Panthers in the late 1960's and early 1970's, then on the "Chitlin' Circuit," working with such legends as Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Four Tops, Earth, Wind And Fire, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Chuck Berry,Tina Turner, Jerry Lee Lewis, Randy Travis, Peter Frampton , and Diana Ross & The Supremes. His overwhelming charisma and command of the stage caught the eye of "Good Times" producer Norman Lear, and his career to super-stardom was on its way.

Although the demands of being on a hit television show and starring in movies such as "Let's Do It Again" with Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier took up most of his time, Jimmie never lost his love for performing stand-up, and was named Time Magazine's "Comedian Of The Decade" for the 1970's.  His keen eye for talent also led him to employ such young writers as David Letterman, Jay Leno, Byron Allen, Louie Anderson, Robert Schimmel, Ralphie May, Richard Jeni, and many others to work on his writing staff over the years.

Even after the historically successful run of "Good Times" ended, Jimmie continued to stay in the limelight as seen by his countless appearances on “The Tonight Show,” “Late Night with David Letterman,” “Merv Griffin,” and “The Mike Douglas Show.”  He's also kept his acting skills sharp with guest appearances on “Everybody Hates Chris,” “The George Lopez Show,” and “Scrubs” and classic movies "Airplane" and "Let's Do It Again" with Sidney Poitier as well as finding time to write a New York Times best-selling book, two Grammy Nominated Comedy Albums and his 2018 new stand-up special “I’m Still Here” can be seen on STARZ! See Jimmie J.J. Walker live for the first time ever. Don't delay this show will sell out!

JIMMY WALKER

Jimmy was born in the Bronx, New York, and started singing on the neighbourhood street corner, harmonizing acapella versions of radio hits with three friends. The group called themselves the CASTLE KINGS.
AHMET ERTEGUN of Atlantic records signed the band and they recorded three singles for the label.

Jimmy moved to Bergenfield where he joined Buddy Randall (previously in the ROCKIN' SAINTS of "Short Shorts" fame when he was only 14!) and John & Beau Charles playing under the name of the KNICKERBOCKERS.
They soon met songwriter JERRY FULLER in a club in Albany, where he was booked as a singer promoting his own career. He signed the group to a record deal with CHALLENGE, began his own career as a producer and took the band to California. They were house-band at the RED VELVET nightclub and had a smash hit with "LIES". They became regulars on the TV show "WHERE THE ACTION IS", also appearing on
"SHINDING", SHIVAREE", "HULLABALLU" amongst others...

Jimmy then accepted an offer by BOBBY HATFIELD to replace BILL MEDLEY in the RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS. For the next four years, they played major venues and concerts across America including the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas. They also performed in Japan and the Philippines.
They appeared on several US TV shows including the Smothers Brothers and Glen Campbell Good Time Hour.
They recorded the album "REBIRTH" in 1969. Jimmy wrote a song called "Nobody's Gonna Take Me" and played drums on the whole album.

After leaving the Brothers, Jimmy joined FATBACK with former Brothers' BARRY RILLERA and his brother BUTCH.
Jimmy then played with OASIS with JIM WALLER and HOT STREET with BRUCE CONTE, ex-TOWER OF POWER.

He spent recent years living and playing in Vegas with various musicians and the JIMMY WALKER BAND, featuring PAT MARLIN, TIM MANION, CARL GOTTMAN and DEWEY DEHRAN.
He recorded a solo album "PLAYING TO WIN" (available on CD BABY and iTunes) with Jeff Palmer wich is a nice mix of Soul & R'n'B with a touch of Blues & Funk.

Back in California, he has performed with bass player BILL McCUBBIN and Blues guitar maestro ALVON JOHNSON. He has teamed up again with TIM MANION who now lives in LA and recorded a new album "STILL THERE IN MY SOUL". Available on CD Baby, iTunes etc... http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/jimmywalker2
