Slow Food's Ark of Taste is a living catalog of the world's most endangered foods. Learn more about how this international project to preserve culinary culture and biodiversity is taking shape in New York during an evening of tasting and discussion.
A snapshot of the recent return of the Hank's X-Tra Special Baking Bean to the Hudson Valley will illustrate the impact of communities working together to grow food biodiversity. We'll trace the historic and contemporary significance of several Ark of Taste foods, discuss their preservation, and explore the unique quality of flavors shaped by New York's culture and landscape.
After the event, join us for a pop-up farmers' market in the museum, featuring a curated selection of hard-to-find New York State agricultural products!
