Insider Tour-Benter Foundation/Ave Four Analytics

Pittsburgh's Wall Street-Fourth-Avenue signaled the city's booming financial and industrial prominence in its architecture. From 1890-1910, numerous banks and significant oil and manufacturing firms built multi-story offices here.

In 1905, architect Thomas H. Scott added an architectural classic that would become the headquarters of the Benedum Trees Oil Company in 1911.

Still known as the Benedum Trees Building, the marble and bronze laden lobby echoes the elegant design of this era today. Upstairs, a just-finished renovation reinterprets these classical elements for the digital age.

During a curated twenty-five minute tour, small groups of visitors will see a three-story complex of offices for a technology related firm. The tour will start with a brief overview of the design process. Visitors will see the open concept work space of the firm, and will move to two others floors featuring private offices and meeting rooms.

Here, classic architecture and traditional materials like wood paneling and coffer ceilings, bronze casework and travertine and marble meet state of the art technology in high performance mechanicals, energy efficient LED lighting and amenities like a music system integrated invisibly into the ceiling architecture. A short stop at the roof top terrace will offer a commanding view of Market Square, Mount Washington and the South Side.  Weather permitting.
