About Your Instructor: Jessica Zodrow

Jessica Zodrow grew up in Ashland, Oregon the home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. She completed her B.A in Theatre Arts at Southern Oregon University and then worked as a theatre and teaching artist in the Portland Metro area, in New York City (the surrounding Boroughs) and in the Bay Area. Her love of community building and theatre teaching led her back the big apple in 2009 where she received her Master’s in Theatre Education at NYU. Currently she works for Curious Comedy Theater as an administrator and educator, runs her own immersive theatre company joy & wonder theatre and for Playwrite Inc. as a coach/actor and trainer. While managing the Educational Outreach Department at the Northwest Children’s Theater she worked directly with classroom teachers to infuse play, creative thinking and social emotional learning into their lesson plans along with teaching, developing curriculum & training teaching artists in  theater arts for students ages K-12th grade. Over the last seven months she has been teaching on the zoom platform and is excited by the ways in which we can play, move and connect to each other when not in the same physical spaces. Her goal is to infuse play, connection and create community inside on-line classrooms everywhere!
