Event Description
Ice Fishing 101

Have you ever wondered why ice fishing is so popular? Have you always wanted to experience ice fishing but don’t know where to begin? If this sounds like you, welcome to the inaugural Ice Fishing 101 event! This program is to assist those whom have interest but need help getting started!

All registrants will be provided an ice fishing rod and tackle box. Learn from local fishing guide Matt Liebel and the Epping Rural Fire Department regarding ice safety, rigging, equipment, and the rules/regulations you need to follow. Following this classroom instruction you will head out on the ice on Lake Sakakawea to put your new knowledge to the test and have some fun doing it.

Register soon, this event is limited to the first 12 participants! Event starts promptly at 8:30am and will finish at 4:30pm (CST).

Event will include Breakfast and Lunch, a daily ND State Park vehicle pass, and participants will keep the provided fishing rod and tackle box after the event!

Reminder: it's January in North Dakota, please bring outdoor, temperature-appropriate winter clothing: dress in layers, winter coat, snow pants/bibs, insulated winter boots, hat, gloves, and a face mask. Event organizers will not be able to provide any cold weather gear.
