Hudson River Views Tour 2021

Tour ticket holders do not need to purchase a Daily Grounds Pass, as tour tickets include grounds access.

This tour traverses the lower western portion of the Lyndhurst landscape. You will start at the Lyndhurst veranda and its marble garden furniture and fountains and traverse down through a series of rockeries offering views of the Hudson River, concluding at the restored 19th-century bowling alley with its exhibit on Madam C.J. Walker and Helen Gould.

This tour combines the history of the estate and its residents with some discussion of trees and historic plantings. Departing from the Welcome Center, this walking tour requires the ability to walk over uneven hilly terrain for at least one hour. While much of this tour goes downhill on cement pathways, it requires an uphill walk to return to the Welcome Center. It is not recommended for those with mobility issues or children under 12.
