Event Description
The Hound of the Baskervilles

The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Adapted by Steve Canny and John Nicholson for Peepolykus
Directed By Andrew Paul
A Pittsburgh Premiere July 21-August 7, 2016
Starring David Whalen as Sherlock Holmes with James FitzGerald and Connor McCanlus
Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre, 937 Liberty Avenue, Downtown Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh favorite David Whalen dusts off his deerstalker to play the world’s most famous consulting detective once again! Joined by James FitzGerald (Dr. John Watson) and Connor McCanlus (Sir Henry Baskerville), the three actors attempt the impossible (or at least ridiculous) as they fearlessly bring The Hound of the Baskervilles to life. This farcical (but faithful!) three-person adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle’s best-loved tale was adapted for the British comedy troupe Peepolykus. Fans of Monty Python’s Flying Circus will recognize the mad, deadly serious and uniquely British humor, as the actors improvise props, costumes, and scenery to tell the story while playing all of the roles (including the women, to hilarious effect) themselves. Kinetic’s Hound of the Baskervilles promises to be the laugh-out-loud theatrical event of the summer season!
