The Music Gallery and York University present

History Series: York Archives Show And Tell

Curated and hosted by Pratishtha Kohli

Room 305, Scott Library, York University, 4700 Keele St.

Event: 6pm

When the Music Gallery was located at the Church of St. George The Martyr, we waited patiently for the Line 1 Subway extension to be completed so that we shuttle up to York University, the home of our archives from 1976-2012. We’ve moved since then but at least the subway extension is complete and we are thrilled to finally collaborate with York for a show and tell of our photos, posters and recordings from days gone by. Representing decades of work, these archives are a living history of the development of the Music Gallery’s sound and mandate. Through linking the values of those who passed through these halls, and the sounds that were developed in these spaces, this Show and Tell recounts the story of the Music Gallery better than any historian could.
