Event Description

Summers in Pennsylvania are lush with abundant shades of green, even in cities, thanks in large part to trees. Living in Pennsylvania, trees shape our environment. Almost all of the land that surrounds us is gradually working towards being forested, and often with an astounding diversity of species.

Join Naturalist Stephen Bucklin to learn observation skills for identifying the many trees that call Pennsylvania home and to begin seeing the forest AND the trees.

Registration is required. While this is an all-ages event, it is intended for teenagers and adults. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

This hike is rain or shine. Weather-appropriate clothes and footwear with good tread are encouraged. Participants should expect to walk between one and two miles at a leisurely pace. Hike will meet at the Frick Environmental Center.

The nearest bus stop is the 61A or 61B at Forbes and Dallas - From the bus stop to the Environmental Center involves an uphill and a stretch with no sidewalk.
