The Highwaymen Christmas Show

HIGHWAYMEN CHRISTMAS SPECIAL!

The Highwaymen were made to do a Christmas show, and a Christmas show is the reason The Highwaymen exist. Johnny Cash did ten Christmas specials starting in 1976. In 1984, Johnny reached out to his long-time friend Waylon Jennings and asked him to bring along Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson to the Christmas show he was doing in Montreux Switzerland. After filming was over for each day, these four men got along so well they would have parties each night. During these after-show parties, they decided to do an album together called Highwaymen.

If it wasn’t for Johnny doing these regular Christmas specials and for being good friends with these other three men, we would have never had The Highwaymen.

The Highwaymen Christmas Special will replicate the highlights of that 1984 show by performing songs like White Christmas, Blue Christmas, Silent Night, and The Little Drummer Boy, Always on My Mind, Ring of Fire, Luckenbach Texas, and Me and Bobby McGee.
More information to follow in the coming weeks!!!

A little background on the HighwayMen Tribute Show.....

The Highwaymen Show was created by Alabama native, Gray Sartin. Gray started performing at the age of five and made his first appearance on an auto commercial. He started playing guitarat ten and at 19, he won a comedy contest doing an impression of Rodney Dangerfield. He has been professionally performing for 21 years. In 2011, Gray created theJohnny Cash Now tribute show and started performing nationwide.

In 2018, Gray created another character by adding atribute to Waylon Jennings, and that same year he started producing other multi-tribute shows including George Jones, Merle Haggard, Linda Ronstadt, Hank Williams Jr and Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. Eventually, Gray narrowed down his multi-tribute show toThe HighwaymenShow.

The Highwaymen Show pays tribute to Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson. This is the only touring Highwaymenshow in the world that pays tribute to all four Highwaymen. A little background on the original Highwaymen:In 1984, Johnny Cash invited WillieNelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson to play on his Johnny Cash Christmas TV Special that was filmed in Switzerland. When they got back to the hotel, they started jamming and hanging out and that was how the Highwaymen came to be. Gray Sartin’sHighwaymen show is made up of musicians that he has worked with for decades. Since its inception,The Highwaymen Show has toured all over North America, performing at fairs, festivals, performing arts centers and casinos in Canada, Alaska, Montana, Colorado, Georgia, West Virginia, Tennessee and Florida. Later this year, the show will be appearing inNew York, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, New Mexico and all over Texas.
