Boss Babes WV is teaming up with local musicians Hello June, The Parachute Brigade, and Annie Neeley to support the needs of the Morgantown Friendship House and we need your help!!
According to the 2017 Annual Homeless Assessment Report, it was estimated that 39% of the homeless population (215,709 people) were women or trans men. Access to clean and usable period products is sparse and is a constant need and awful struggle.
As women, having a period is and can be a monthly burden - both financially and emotionally, so the goal is to help some locals a little bit with the financial side of this burden. This is only one tiny step in menstruation equality, but we're going to do our best to do our part!
We have decided to team up and gather as many products as we possibly can and we'll be raffling off prizes for people who bring donations and we'll have a table of cookies and treats for your enjoyment!
We will have donation bins for the following items:
- Unused period supplies (tampons, pads, cups, underwear, etc)
- Backpacks and bags (these will go to locals who are carrying around their very personal belongings in plastic bags that tear and break)
- Socks
Please start collecting these items now and make this event something that makes a difference. If you can't make it to the show, please keep your eyes out for our posts about where you can bring your donations. We will have a drop off point for you to do so.
See you at the show! Support locals. Support women.
