Enjoy good food and lively tunes at Harvest Celebration, a strolling dinner featuring unique preparations of plants being grown in the From Slavery To Freedom Garden by local chefs.
Harvest Celebration is an effort to raise funds to support Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy education programs. At the heart of the event is our celebration of the first plantings being done in the Frick Environmental Center's From Slavery to Freedom Garden, a beautifully curated planting space that complements the From Slavery to Freedom Exhibit at the Heinz History Center. The garden highlights plants that sustained black Americans as they made their way North seeking sovereignty. The garden will soon be open to the public and programs that center around the garden and its plantings will be carried out by Parks Conservancy educators.
