HartBeat Ensemble, bringing you provocative stories of Hartford and beyond for nearly 23 years, is hosting a fundraising celebration of our founders on Sunday, March 24, from 2-5 p.m., at Black Eyed Sallys, Hartford, with cocktails, lunch, auction, and live music.

Join us as we recognize Steven Raider-Ginsburg, Julia B. Rosenblatt and the late Gregory R. Tate, three rebels with the guts and vision more than two decades ago to tell the diverse stories of our Hartford-area communities. HartBeat has since served as a cultural and civic leader in Greater Hartford.

Your presence and generosity also will allow us to continue to do what HartBeat does best:

• presenting a 2024 fall season with a James Baldwin centennial featuring a series of collaborations, staged readings, and productions, while affording Hartford students the opportunity to attend certain shows


• offering a new professional development program to help build more equitable, just, and empathetic workplace and social environments through interactive theater


• presenting other performances and education programs, including our Youth Play Institute


• telling the stories of people who want to make Hartford their new home.
