Chicago, IL - Los Angeles, CA - Oakland, CA
Our journey will begin at Chicago, IL on May 2nd, 2019. You may board further down the line at regularly scheduled Amtrak stops with advance notification, but the fare will be the same. We will travel behind Amtrak’s Southwest Chief to Los Angeles, CA where we will lay over one night. In Los Angeles, guests will overnight at the Marriott Burbank Airport location the night of May 4th. The next day we travel onward to Oakland, CA (Jack London Sqaure).
THURSDAY May 2nd : Today we will depart Chicago, IL behind Amtrak train #3. A member of our staff will greet you at the Amtrak Metropolitan lounge and escort you to the train. Boarding begins at 2:20 PM with a 2:50 PM departure. We will begin our trip by passing through northern Illinois and cross the Mississippi River before arriving at Kansas City, MO around 11 PM. A welcome aboard hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served upon boarding followed later by a full dinner
FRIDAY May 3rd: Breakfast will be served this morning as we traverse Western Kansas. We will cross scenic Raton Pass and Glorieta Pass before arriving into Albuquerque, NM. Lunch and Dinner served onboard.
SATURDAY May 4th: We will have breakfast in the dome before our arrival into Los Angeles. You are free to explore the LA area today, you are welcome to leave larger bags in your rooms. Tonight guests overnight at the Marriott - Burbank Airport.
SUNDAY May 5th: A representative will meet you at the hotel lobby at 9:30 AM this morning. We will arrange a shuttle over to the Amtrak station. We will all board at the Burbank Amtrak station (one stop out of Los Angeles). Lunch and Dinner will be served onboard today as we make our way up to Oakland Jack London.

We are very excited to announce a new private car trip for 2019 in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike!
Our journey will begin at Emeryville, CA on May 11th, 2019. You may also board downline in Sacramento, CA. We will travel behind Amtrak's California Zephyr to Denver, CO where we will lay over one night. The next day we travel onwards to Chicago, IL.
A detailed itinerary and outline of the trip is below.
SATURDAY May 11thToday we will depart Emeryville behind Amtrak train #6.
Boarding begins at 8:30 AM with a 9:00 AM departure. We will begin our trip by passing through Davis and Sacramento California before beginning our climb over Donner Pass. The day ends with a long crossing of the Northern Nevada Desert. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served onboard
SUNDAY May 12thBreakfast will be served this morning as we arrive into Green River, WY. Today we pass through Ruby and Glenwood Canyon as we approach the Rocky Mountains and Denver, CO. We will overnight in Denver tonight. You are free to enjoy the city, the railcars serve as your hotel room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served onboard
MONDAY May 13th Today is a free day to explore Denver. Local rail highlights include the Forney Museum and the Colorado Railroad Museum. Please be back at the train by 6:00PM. Dinner will be served onboard after we depart.
TUESDAY May 14th Breakfast and lunch will be served onboard as we traverse Nebraska and Iowa before crossing the Mississippi River into Illinois.

Refund Policy: Cancellation refund rules: 100 days prior to the start of any tour you will receive a full refund. 99 to 61 days before the departure of any tour you will receive a 50% cash/50% travel credit refund. Any cancellations received 60 or less days before the start of any tour will not receive any refund. These cancellations rules apply to everyone.
