Event Description

Join WNYC's jordan Lauf and Simon Close as they speak with Lisa Ko in a live conversation about her newest book, Memory Piece.

The New York Public Library and WNYC—two indispensable New York institutions—are partnering to host a book club that brings New Yorkers together and fosters community.

The May title is Lisa Ko's Memory Piece - an innovative and audacious story of three lifelong friends as they strive to build satisfying lives in a world that turns out to be radically different from the one they were promised.

In the early 1980s, three teenagers are drawn together by their shared sense of alienation and desire for something different. They envision each other as artistic collaborators and embark on a future defined by freedom and creativity. By the time they are adults, their dreams are murkier. Over time their friendship matures and changes, their definitions of success become complicated, and their sense of what matters evolves.

Throughout the month, All of It host Alison Stewart and the Library will accompany readers, providing touchpoints on-air and on social media at @allofitwnyc and @nypl. Borrow the book (and more than 300,000 others) for free through the Library’s e-reader app SimplyE, available for iOS and Android devices.

Join special guest hosts Jordan Lauf and Simon Close along with author Lisa Ko and readers everywhere for a live conversation, in-person or online, on Tuesday, May 28 at 6 PM.
