Stanley Donen, one of the last great directors of Hollywood’s Golden Age sadly passed away in February after a long and fruitful career. Though our mini-tribute focuses on some of his greatest musicals, Donen also helmed a number of excellent thrillers and comedies – and even one cheeseball sci-fi epic – that we highly recommend. In FUNNY FACE, a ‘plain Jane’ bookstore clerk played by Audrey Hepburn is discovered by photographer Fred Astaire and swept up into the glamorous world of Parisian fashion.
