Join CitiParks Rangers and Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy Naturalists for an evening of celestial wonder under the Full Moon!


 


September’s full moon, the Harvest Moon, is a marker of many celebrations as summer comes to an end and the seasons change. Come hang out at the Frick Environmental Center to learn more about all that’s happening in the night sky. There will be a Star Party at the fountain, as well as guided hikes through the woods. Hikes will be first come, first served for 25 people each. Hikes meet at the fountain outside of the Frick Environmental Center.


 


Please come dressed for the weather! This event is free, handicap accessible, and dog friendly (all dogs must be leashed and remain away from telescopes, dogs are not permitted to join hikes).


 


Registration isn’t required for this event, but we encourage you to RSVP and let us know if you plan on attending. This will also sign you up for a reminder email closer to the date of the event.


This event will be cancelled in the event of inclement or exceptionally cloudy weather. Cancellation will be announced at 12:00pm the day of.


This is an all-ages event. Children should be accompanied by an adult.


 


The nearest bus stop is the 61A or 61B at Forbes and Dallas - From the bus stop to the Environmental Center involves an uphill and a stretch with no sidewalk.
