The Lake Junaluska, Nanci Weldon Gym is the setting for Folkmoot's 2021 opening performance. A unique OUTDOOR space with covered seating is available or bring a blanket and lawn chair and have a picnic under the stars. There will be Food Trucks and drinks.
Performances by Cherokee Storyteller, Jared Wildcat, Cherokee Hoop Dancer, Eddy Swimmer, Latin American Dance Traditions by El Alma De Luna, Irish Dance by Trinity Irish, Tap Dancers, Giselle Anguizola and Nathan Bugh, and Tex Mex Rock and Roll by Grammy Award-winning Los Texmaniacs!
Folkmoot Festival tickets are available by calling 828-452-2997 or visit the Folkmoot box office, 112 Virginia Avenue, Waynesville, NC. Groups of 20 or more receive a 20% discount.
There is no reserved or paid parking for performances at Lake Junaluska.
Folkmoot, a word meaning "meeting of the people," provides communities all over Western North Carolina the opportunity to build a deeper sense of connection, mutual respect, and shared purpose by experiencing other cultures. Dancers from 9 nations around the globe will perform at the 37th edition of the Folkmoot Festival when it convenes July 22-25, in our beloved Smoky Mountains.
