Hazelwood Peace Lantern Parade

Starting in the heart of the Hazelwood business district, Folkmoot, Daydreamz Project and the Town of Waynesville will host a lantern procession on the evening of Thursday, July 25th.

At 8:30 pm, folks will gather at the plott hound statue in the Town of Waynesville parking lot. At 9 pm, the lantern parade will proceed down Hazelwood Avenue and towards the Folkmoot Center on Virginia Avenue.

Daydreamz Project, an organization specializing in providing access to arts to marginalized populations will work with the community throughout the spring to coordinate handmade lantern-making events. The community is encouraged to make a paper lantern for maximum enjoyment of the lantern procession. To get involved in lantern-making, contact the Folkmoot office, 828-452-2997.
