FHC Speaker Series - Dr. Michael Francis

The Lightner Museum is excited to announce a new partnership with the Florida Humanities Council that together will bring four distinguished speakers to St. Augustine to give presentations in their fields of expertise. These lectures will be held once a month beginning in February and running through May and will be held in the Lightner Museum Historic Pool Area.

On February 8, 2018, the Lightner will welcome Dr. Michael Francis from the University of South Florida for an in-depth presentation Before Jamestown: Europeans, Africans, and Indians in La Florida, 1513-1607. Dr. Francis will focus on the early history of European settlement efforts in Florida and how it continues to impact the region today. The event will begin at 6:30 PM with light refreshments before the lecture begins. Tickets are $10.00 for General Admission; Free for Museum Members and Flagler College Students.
