Event Description

Join us as we investigate fascinating nature-based themes on selected weekends this season! Programs will start with an indoor introduction before we venture out into the Gardens or the Nature Walk. Whether we're searching for wildlife, conducting experiments, or making a craft, we'll have a ton of fun as we discover the wonders of nature.


FEE: $5 Members 

 $18 Non-member adult

 $15 Non-member senior

 $9 Non-member child

Earth Day Stream Clean-Up
(FREE but registration required)


Earth Day Stream Clean-up“Celebrate Earth Day and help staff at Ladew make a difference in the community. Join us for a stream clean-up of the Yellow Branch along our Nature Walk. Your help will prevent litter from harming wildlife and water quality, as well as intercepting litter from making its way into the Gunpowder Watershed, the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean. We will be planting seedlings and have a limited supply to give away. 


We will meet in the courtyard by the visitor center. “

Pond Search
Spring has sprung and the ponds are jumping with lots of activity. We’ll have fun as we scoop the ponds in search of frogs, tadpoles, dragonfly babies, and more.


Saturday, July 13 | 10:30 am – 12 noon (ages 3 and up with an adult)   This program has been cancelled
Playing with Plankton
Take a close look at interesting animals so tiny you need a microscope to see them. Join us on the Nature Walk trail to explore the water features for microscopic aquatic life.

Drawing Whimsical Topiary
with Michael and Joanne Bare
Take some tips from our artists-in-residence to sketch Ladew’s famous topiary. Recommended ages 7 & up. Registration is required. Contact Rachelle Rogers at 410.557.9570 x225 or rrogers@LadewGardens.com to register. Space for this program is limited.
