Imagining Tomorrow
Children ages 4 to 6 and their adult companions explore together to discover the world through art, play fun gallery games, and create their own masterpieces in the studio. In fall, we’re getting inspired by art, fashion, and activism to think about the future we want to see.Sundays, October 6–December 15, 2019, 1:30–3 pm

Session 1, October 6: Visit One: Titus Kaphar and Five Centuries of European Works on Paper, create your own drawing and collage, and imagine the museum of our dreams.
Session 2, October 20: Explore Judy Chicago’s The Dinner Party, learn about some of the women featured in the installation, and talk about who we would add to the piece. Then, work together to make a community mural.
Session 3, October 27: Fight for what you believe in as we visit artworks in Nobody Promised You Tomorrow: Art 50 Years After Stonewall and create our own felt banners.
Session 4, November 3: Celebrate our identity, look at immigration in JR’s work, and create our own black-and-white collage.
Session 5, November 17: Visit the Arts of Asia galleries before creating our own paintings on canvas.
Session 6, November 24: Think about how to dress in the future and design our own futuristic outfits, as seen in Pierre Cardin: Future Fashion.
Session 7, December 8: Visit Nobody Promised You Tomorrow: Art 50 Years After Stonewall and Garry Winogrand: Color, then use recycled materials to create our own dream city

Session 8, December 15: Explore works in Pierre Cardin: Future Fashion and JR: Chronicles that center New York City and Brooklyn, then create your own artistic time capsule.
