Fall 2018


Explore nature with your toddler or preschooler! Nature Preschool programs are open to children ages 2-6 with an adult. Classes include nature walks, stories, songs, and other activities.  Nature ABCs and 1,2,3s and movement activities are part of the fun. Choose either
10:30-11:30 am or 12:30-1:30 pm session.
Fees: Members (Family level and up) $5 per child/adult pair; Non-members $15 per child/adult pair; Additional siblings $5 each.
Fee includes admission to the Gardens and Nature Walk (April to October) and the Butterfly House (June 18 to October 1).
Series Discount! Sign up for the entire series and get 2 free sessions! Register for the Fall Series (6 sessions) for only $20 per member child; $60 per non-member child; $20 each extra sibling.

Tues., September 11 Sunny Sunflowers Tall and golden, bursting with ripened seeds, this flower signals the shift in seasons. Come enjoy an end of summer-early fall exploration in our gardens.


Wed., September 19 Beautiful Butterflies Our meadow, gardens, and Butterfly House are full of these wonderful winged creatures. Let’s see how many different varieties we can find.


Wed., October 10 Wonderful Wind Let’s learn about a part of weather that affects animals, plants, and technology. The kinetic sculptures in our meadow work with wind power and are a great way to see wind at work!


Tues., October 30 What’s in That Web?  Spiders are a very important part of nature. Learn how these eight-legged critters help take care of the gardens. 


Tues., November 6 Native American Traditions Let’s learn how maple, osage orange and tulip trees all provided early Americans with materials to meet their many needs.


Wed., December 12 Oh, Deer! Deer are great symbols of grace, strength and beauty.  We’ll read about these amazing animals and some of their close relatives. Craft included.
