Pigsty

1969. Italy. Written and directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini. Pasolini’s vicious satire interweaves the strangely perverse stories of two sacrificial victims: a cannibal who devours his own father in a medieval volcanic wasteland, and the pig-fetishist son of a bourgeois magnate who is locked in battle with a former Nazi industrialist (Ugo Tognazzi, in a role originally intended for Jacques Tati!). 35mm print from Luce Cinecittà; courtesy Movie-Time. In Italian; English subtitles. 98 min.
